Exmight unveils MagicMount PowerBank for Android and iPhone

  • Removable phone batteries used to be a very important thing to me. It is one of the reasons, at least initially, I shunned the iPhone for Android smartphones. Over time, however, this became less important, thanks to USB battery packs. Ultimately, I bought an iPhone and couldn't be happier.

The problem with these battery packs, however, is that the cable creates a bit of a mess; it looks unsightly to have a wire dangling from your pocket. Meanwhile, battery cases are often bulky, ruining the svelte nature of the phone. Now, Exmight unveils its MagicMount PowerBank for Android and iPhone. By utilizing magnets, it can be easily affixed to the rear of the phone when needed, and removed when not. The super-short cable will prevent tangling too.

"The MagicMount PowerBank is packaged with a large and small MagicPlate. The MagicPlate can be applied directly to an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S7 or similar mobile devices, sandwiched in-between the phone and case or to the outside of the case. Once placed this allows the MagicMount Powerbank to quickly mount to the device. It also comes with a cable to recharge the PowerBank itself", says Exmight.

The manufacturer further sasy, "it allows users to continue with their daily routines and other travels while ensuring that their phones are always juiced up. While battery-powered phone cases may seem practical, they provide unnecessary bulk and have proven to be inconvenient due to short battery lives. Plus, should a consumer switch phones, they typically will need to buy another case. The MagicMount Powerbank addresses the impracticality of battery-powered cases by providing a solution that can easily be removed from a phone once a user’s device reaches the desired charge level".

I find this solution to be quite brilliant, as it does not tie you to a specific phone -- other than iPhone vs micro USB, but more on that shortly. A device with a removable battery, for instance, will typicallly have a proprietary battery -- change phones and the extras you bought are useless. The same can be said of a battery case. The MagicMount PowerBank can pretty much be used with any phone or case -- except those fancy new USB-C devices.
